Millions of people in America are struggling with hunger. In fact, 1 out of 6 people in the United States face this serious issue. For over 25 years, Taste of the NFL (TNFL) has been working to kick hunger. To date, they have raised more than $25 million since their inception in 1992 at the Minneapolis Super Bowl. Verlasso is honored and excited to announce its partnership with Taste of the NFL. TNFL Founder and culinary entrepreneur, Wayne Kostroski, has led this charge for more than 23 years. Culinary superstars like Bobby Flay (a founding TNFL chef), Ted Allen – Chopped, Buddy Valastro - Cake Boss, Andrew Zimmern – Bizarre Foods, Adam Richman – Man vs Food and Alex Guarnaschelli –The Food Network are avid supporters and/or participants. Some of the NFL’s greatest players, (current, alumni and Hall Of Fame) support and/or participate in their local team events or the Super Bowl event. Such notables include Randall McDaniel, Matt Stafford, Andre Reed, Steve Hauschka, Anthony Munoz, Benjarvis Green-Ellis, Kellen Winslow Sr., and Chad Greenway to name a few.
We are kicking off our commitment to this incredible cause by supporting the Kick Hunger Challenge in several of our retail partners across the country. With every pound of Verlasso purchased between now and December 15th when you shop at Festival Foods, Heinen’s, HyVee or Harmon’s, you will be donating 2 meals to a local food bank. These charities include the Chicago Food Bank, Cleveland Food Bank, Brown County Food and Hunger Network and many more! We are excited to support teams and chefs in this effort to fight hunger in their communities!
Throughout the coming months, you will also see Verlasso supporting Taste of the NFL events with chefs across the country leading up to the Super Bowl TNFL event. The event will be held the evening before the Super Bowl on February 3rd in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It is attended by numerous celebrities and America’s business elite who share in our belief to eradicate hunger. Each year, net proceeds from Taste of the NFL's programs and events are donated to designated Feeding America affiliated food banks in each of the 32 NFL team cities, as well as other select hunger relief organizations. We are proud and excited to be supporting this important cause as part of our efforts to making impact beyond the ocean.
At Verlasso, we believe that it’s not what we do, it’s why we do it. We aim for nothing less than changing the world through sustainable aquaculture.
