Extending our reach beyond the ocean to help fight hunger in local communities

This time, our team got to experience the magic of April in Augusta, Georgia at one of the hottest humanitarian and social events – Taste of the Master Chefs.

Taste of the Master Chefs is an organization that was launched by an extrememly dedicated and decorated team, including Taste of the NFL founder and 2010 James Beard Humanitarian of the Year Wayne Kostroski. As a 501c3 non-profit, they host culinary events to raise funds and awareness for hunger relief. All proceeds from the 2018 Taste of the Master Chefs April 6th event benefit The Salvation Army.

As a sponsor, we had the honor of working alongside many Master Chefs including Joe Kindred of Kindred Restaurant, Jenn Robbins of Good Foods Kitchen, certified Master Chef Rich Rosendale, and even NBC’s the Voice finalist – Esera Tuaolo!

  • The singing chef wowed everyone with his two flavor-packed dishes: Samoan Verlasso Poke with Coconut Milk and Hawaiian Teriyaki Smoked Verlasso Salmon with Wasabi Leek Potato Mash. Both ‘taste-bud’ approve by all!

  • Joe Kindred represented North Carolina with class in his Verlasso Salmon Crudo, Citrus, Sunchoke, and Chrysanthemum dish.

  • Chef Jenn Robbins put quite a delicious spin on a classic with her Verlasso Salmon Pastrami Reuben Bites.

  • Chef Rich Rosendale took us on an incredible culinary rollercoaster with the Ceviche Verlasso Salmon topped with Honey Caviar.

It was certainly a night to remember. Great food, great people and amazing chefs coming together for a greater cause - this was the most rewarding part of the night for us all. Verlasso’s commitment to raising sustainable salmon is important, and so is supporting local communities in need.
